| Question: : My 7 month old JRT keeps eating our wool rug. It's an old rug and we leave it on the floor for him to sleep on. The long wool strands occasionally come out in his poop. Could this cause medical problems for him? P.S. I don't care about the rug!
Quick answer, yes it can cause problems. If your terrier eats enough of this rug the fibers can build up inside him and cause a blockage. Blockages usually mean surgery and blockages are serious business. If a blockage isn't dealt with in time it can be fatal. It's either time to pull the rug up or start to teach your terrier not to chew on items he shouldn't be. Regards, |
