It usually takes place when we are having play time. She has not yet gone into heat. Could it be that she is getting close? Whats the deal?

When a dog displays mountin behavior it can be a combination of both dominance and sexual behaviors.

My strong suggestion is to get your girl spayed ASAP. This will help lessen this urge and also help prevent various cancers that intact bitches can develop later in life.

A trip to obedience school would also help to stop this behavior as you work obedience with her she will see you as her leader and not try to take the leadership role as she appears she is trying to do now.
